Founded by master artisan Dorothy Alice, our story began long before the first piece of furniture entered the workroom. At just three years old, Dorothy learned to sew beside her grandmother’s Singer treadle machine, where patience, precision, and pride in craftsmanship became lifelong values. Surrounded by a mother with a remarkable eye for interior design and an uncle whose upholstery shop revealed the transformative power of fine furniture, she developed a passion for creating pieces that are as enduring as they are beautiful.
Over the years, Dorothy refined her craft under the guidance of accomplished tradespeople while building a successful career as an entrepreneur. Those experiences shaped the philosophy that continues to define the Dorothy Alice brand today: exceptional craftsmanship should never be rushed, thoughtful design should stand the test of time, and true luxury is found in the details.
What began as a single artisan’s vision has evolved into one of Central Florida’s premier custom upholstery and interior furnishings ateliers. Today, Dorothy leads a team of exceptionally skilled artisans whose combined expertise represents generations of traditional craftsmanship. Together, we create bespoke upholstery, custom cushions, designer pillows, bedding, soft furnishings, and coordinated interior projects for discerning homeowners throughout Central Florida.
