When a piece enters our workroom, we look beyond the fabric to consider the condition and construction underneath. Depending upon the project, this may include the frame, webbing, springs, padding, foam, cushion interiors, and other foundation materials.

When those components have deteriorated, they can often be repaired, replaced, or upgraded before the new upholstery is applied.

This inside-out approach is especially valuable for well-made vintage and heirloom furniture. A beautiful exterior is important, but what you cannot see often determines how the furniture will feel, perform, and age.
